India Emerging as a Trusted Global Partner, Says Prime Minister Narendra Modi During Address to Indian Community in France
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, addressing the Indian community in Paris, said India is emerging as a trusted global partner as nations seek reliable long-term relationships. He highlighted India's economic and social transformation, its Special Global Strategic Partnership with France, and the upcoming TRISHNA satellite mission aimed at strengthening global water and food security.
Welcomed with the message "Bonjour Modi" and chants of "Bharat", the Prime Minister said there was a time when international relations were driven mainly by trade, but the current global environment demands dependable partnerships and resilient supply chains. He said every nation seeks partners that can be trusted over the long term, and India is increasingly fulfilling that role on the global stage.
Referring to the G7 meeting in Evian, Modi said he underlined the importance of partnerships built on trust. He said India's message to the summit was clear that global governance would become effective only when it is inclusive, global growth would remain sustainable only when it is shared, and technology would truly serve humanity only when it is trusted.
The Prime Minister said the world is passing through a period of uncertainty and disruption and asserted that the relationship between India and France has emerged as a strong pillar of trust, stability and cooperation. He noted that both countries have elevated their ties to the level of a Special Global Strategic Partnership.
Highlighting scientific cooperation, Modi announced that India and France will launch the TRISHNA satellite next year. He said the satellite would contribute to strengthening global water and food security.
Modi said he arrived in France after completing 12 years as the elected Prime Minister of India. Calling it the strength of Indian democracy, he said it had given a tea seller the opportunity to serve the nation continuously for 12 years, describing it as one of the greatest fortunes of his life.
He said India has witnessed transformative growth across multiple sectors during the past 12 years and stressed that the country's journey extends beyond economic progress. According to Modi, it is also a story of social transformation, with 25 crore people being lifted out of poverty during the period.
The Prime Minister said the aspirations of India's youth are reaching new heights, farmers are advancing with new opportunities, and women are demonstrating fresh leadership. He added that future generations reviewing this period after 50 or 100 years would recognise it as an era driven by India's aspirations.
Emphasising long-term development, Modi said modern India is building the ecosystem of the future and investing across sectors that will shape the coming decades. He reiterated that this is a defining period in India's journey, marked by rising ambitions, innovation and opportunities that will influence generations to come.
The address underscored India's growing international stature and highlighted the deepening strategic partnership with France, with New Delhi positioning itself as a reliable global partner amid changing geopolitical realities.
